#there are pete’s world aus i consider but can’t bring myself to write #that involve it just not working out between them #him not knowing how to express himself after 700+ years of keeping himself on a short fucking emotional chain #her not knowing how to love him for who he is and not who he was #and in the process alienating the hell out of them both #and so one day they talk about it #and he needs to find himself #and his own bearings #and if she’s going to love him #it’s going to be for that #not for what they had #but what he is and will become #so he leaves - they swap emails now and again but it’s years before she sees him in person #until one friday night she gets a text from a number that hasn’t come up in a long long time #‘dinner tomorrow?’ #and when she sees him—god—he looks just the same #five years and they’ve only barely touched him #he walks differently #moves talks thinks differently #and they trade stories over dinner and drinks #catching up—she’s saved the world half a dozen times and he’s patented half a dozen inventions #and the way he looks at her it’s like he’s never left and she feels like she’s nineteen again #and there’s reconciliation—‘i shouldn’t have made you go’ versus ‘you were so right to’ #and he picks up the check and as they stand to go they clasp hands and it’s forgiveness #absolute and unconditional #and when he turns his head to her and asks if she has time #if she has anywhere to be tonight #it’s her pleasure to shake her head and give him a tongue-touched grin #and when she says ‘no—but i do now’ (via neverwhyonlywho)

My favourite tragic love story is that of an artist and their art
This was recorded by the Portsmouth Sinfonia in an experiment where all the members of the orchestra would swap instruments with each other and attempt to play them to the best of their ability.
This is the result. And it makes me laugh every single time.
It tries to be so dramatic but it just falls flat. Love it.
